Who Are You: School 2015 (2015)
The story was well-thought and pretty different from your usual teen dramas. It was very enjoyable, which can be hard especially when you know that the issue of bullying was paramount in the drama.
It follows the storyline of Sekang High School, the most prestigious private high school in Seoul’s Gangnam District, and Go Eun Byul is the most popular girl there. Meanwhile, her identical twin Lee Eun Bi is living in an orphanage and is being bullied at school. Then one day, Eun Byul mysteriously disappears. Soon after, Eun Bi loses her memories and is mistaken as being Eun Byul. Eun Bi then starts living her life as Eun Byul.
Sassy Go Go (2015)
Watching this was an absolute joy! It will make you cry, laugh, and grin! When you’re in high school you get serious about studying, however, it’s also the time when you want to have fun and enjoy life with your friends. So the balance between these two is what this drama is all about.
Set in a highly competitive school that emphasizes achievement and scores above all else, the drama will lay bare the absurdities and hypocrisies of the education system while also featuring the growth stories of the students who struggle to move forward, one step at a time.
The Heirs (2013)
The heirs was one of the Korean dramas that captured many person hearts. The cast along with the storyline was executed greatly. Written by Kim Eun-sook, the drama is set in a high school populated by the privileged and uber-rich.
Kim Tan is the heir to Empire Group who has been sent to study abroad in the U.S. In reality it’s a form of exile, as his elder half-brother back home schemes to take over the family business. While in the States, Kim Tan meets Cha Eun Sang, who arrived from Korea in search of her older sister. He feels himself falling for her, never realizing that she’s the daughter of his family’s housekeeper. When his fiancée Rachel Yoo arrives to bring him back to Korea, his heart is torn between love and duty.
Playful Kiss (2010)
It’s charming from start to finish. The male lead is a bit cold and grumpy but throughout the drama, his character changes due to his discovered feelings for the female lead.
PLOT: Oh Ha Ni is a clumsy student who falls for the perfectionist, Baek Seung Jo. However, Seung Jo is indifferent towards her and rejects her love. When Ha Ni’s house collapses, she and her father move into his long-time friend’s house. It turns out that Seung Jo is the friend’s son, and Ha Ni is given the opportunity to be near the boy she loves. Will she be able to move Seung Jo’s heart?
Boys Over Flowers (2009)
Jan Di, the Heroine, is the poor but bright girl who has a strong sense of justice and full of vitality. She transfers to an exclusive high school where only the rich go. In there, she encounters with the four rich and quirky boys and experiences love and friendship.
This is undoubtedly the most popular Korean drama of all time. It is also that brought many people to Kdrama land. It earned high viewership ratings in South Korea and popularity throughout Asia
Dream High (2011)
Dream High tells the story of six students at Kirin Art High School who work to achieve their dreams of becoming music stars in the Korean music industry.
The very best thing about this drama is the story is constantly moving forward. The writer of this gets my applause for keeping it fresh and never boring. The story twists and turns in very believable ways moving the Students of Dream High along on their journey and making them grow up. It’s fun to watch. The music is great and works into the plot perfectly.
Sungkyunkwan Scandal (2010)
Sungkyunkwan Scandal Korean Drama sets in the Joseon period where a girl who is good in studies but she was not allowed to study because she is a girl. So the girl disguised as a man and joined the Sungkyunkwan School and studied along with men.
It had me hooked from the very beginning, leaving little space for dull moments. Every time a plot twist was resolved, it only meant the beginning of another that would just keep as hooked as the one that just ended.
Orange Marmalade (2015)
If you want a vampire drama then give this a watch.
Set in a fantasy world where humans and vampires coexist, the latter have evolved and no longer rely on human blood as food. Still, they are feared and discriminated against by society, causing many of them to hide their true nature and live as “normal” citizens, or else become outcasts.
Baek Ma Ri is a socially withdrawn teenage girl hiding her vampire identity. Driven away from several neighborhoods, she is eager tosettle down in her new city and live quietly. But things change when she falls in love with Jung Jae Min, the most popular boy at her high school.
Heartstrings has a college setting instead of high school, so if you are simply looking for a drama in a school setting then this is for you.
It is a youth melodrama about love, friendship and dreams, set against the backdrop of a performing arts college. The drama reunited Jung Yong-hwa and Park Shin-hye who both starred in the TV series You’re Beautiful (2009).
High School King of Savvy (2014)
The relationships in this show are the heart and soul of the whole masterpiece. It’s actually hard to find anything negative to say about this drama.
It follows the storyline of Lee Min Seok, a naive, immature, and clueless high school hockey player who somehow ends up working at a company in place of his brother. He lives a double life as a student and a high positioned office worker and falls in love with a woman who is a temporary employee at that same company.

A wonderful drama for back to school or to reminisce the good old high school days. This drama will take you on a diverse emotion trip and leave you feeling chilled!
The plot follows a class of high school students attempting to overcome the stress of being ranked by their exam grades, and facing the difficulties of being a teenager in a high-pressure, corrupt system.
Hi! School – Love On (2014)
Lee Seul Bi is an angel who is sent to Earth to look after Shin Woo Hyun, who lives with his grandmother and carries emotional scars from being abandoned by his parents. Despite his cold demeanor, Woo Hyun is popular in school because of his good looks and singing ability. When his best friend, Hwang Sung Yeol, finds out a secret that ties them together and also develops feelings for Seul Bi, who is posing as a fellow student at their school, the best friends turn into rivals.
Though a bit long, this drama was well written and the actors did a great job. The setting was beautiful, you can see the Korean culture in a splendid way.
It follows the storyline of Chae Gyeong an ordinary high school student. One day, she receives some unexpected news. Because of her grandfathers will, she must marry the unendurable Crown Prince Lee Shin who also attends her high school.
As she struggles to adapt herself to the proper manners and royal duties of palace life and to her disagreeable husband, Lee Shin’s sentimental cousin and second-in-line to the throne.
To The Beautiful You (2012)
It is centered on Goo Jae-hee, a Korean girl who lives in the United States. She is bullied in school due to her looks and almost wanted to drop out of school. One day, she sees a track and field competition on TV, and becomes attracted to one of the high jump competitors, Kang Tae-joon (Choi Min-ho). She begins to idolize the young athlete and is then inspired to join in sports and to stand up against her foes.
She eventually transfers to Korea to attend the same school that Tae-joon attends after he suffers an accident that could potentially end his career. There is a catch, however: Tae-joon attends an all-boys high school, Genie High School, so Jae-hee cuts her hair short and disguised herself as a boy to enter the school.
Magic School (2017)
Lee Na Ra has been single his whole life and his goal is to live a normal life, Jay is a genius magician, Jun is a medical resident who was adopted to a family in America, and Lee Seong is the youngest doctor in astrophysics. These four men are as different as four people can be and go to magic school for different reasons.
One of them wants to tell a girl about his feelings for her, one is chasing after his brother’s dream, one just wants to help people, and one is there to deny the things he can’t understand.
These young men are lost in this era, where discussing dreams has become a luxury. They experience things that were least expected and face magical moments hidden in their daily lives.
Go Back Couple (2017)
Though this drama is centred around university students it’s still a good watch if you are just simply looking for a drama involving a school setting.
What I loved about this Kdrama is how well all the characters are intertwined and how the topic of family, marriage, friendship is put perfectly into every episode. There are a lot of brawling your eyes out episodes but plenty of laughter in between.
Choi Ban Do and Ma Jin Joo are both 38-years-old and a married couple. Choi Ban Do has been burdened with being the breadwinner and Ma Jin Joo is a housewife with low self-esteem. Even though they loved each other when they married, they now hate each other. They both regret marrying at such a young age. The couple travels through time and finds themselves as 20-year-old university students when they met for the first time.
