BIGBANG Opens Way for BTS, EXO and BLACKPINK to BECOME INT’L Stars

Rightfully dubbed as the “Kings of K-pop”, the group BIGBANG is known for their sensationalism and strong influence through their music. With members, G-Dragon, Taeyang, T.O.P, Daesung, and Seungri—the group has become legendary stars for being one of the most dedicated groups for more than a decade.

Bearing in mind the release of the chat room scandal that  Seungri is involved, international media outlets such as  Time magazine; one of the leading magazines in the world have shared their admiration for BIGBANG who is said to have led the way for other popular K -pop groups to be recognized on a global scale.

According to Time Magazine:

“By 2012, they (BIGBANG) became the first Korean group to make it to the main Billboard 200 album charts with their EP Alive. Their 2015 world tour is considered one of the most-attended Korean act tours in history, drawing 1.5 million people, clearing the way for more K-pop groups like BTS, EXO and BLACKPINK to become international hits just a few years later.

BIGBANG has reportedly sold more than 140 million records globally, besting groups like the Backstreet Boys for title of best-selling boy band. Lately the group has been on hiatus, as three of its five members are currently enlisted for their mandatory military service. The other members are G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang and Daesung.”

BIGBANG is one of the first few groups wherein members had individual careers while
still being active in their group. They proved to everyone that you don’t have to leave or
disband just to be able to have a stable solo career. Becoming the icons that they are now
was not easy. But it was worth it because they’ve  inspired everyone with their
persistence
