Pop idol Jung Joon Young could be sentenced to an amount of seven and half years in prison for illegal recording and distribution of sex tapes.

According to lawyer Oh Soo Jin,

“his illegally filmed hidden camera videos and distribution against the victims will carry up to 7 years in prison. It’s possible that if the prostitution suspicions are added then this will add another half year sentence. According to the Sexual Violence Punishment Law, the punishment guarantees 5 years behind bars with a maximum of 7.5 years or less. ”

As for the level of punishment of those who were in a chat room with Jung, the lawyer said, “It is difficult to hold criminal responsibility just by watching illegal video clips, but if you give and distribute illegal videos to others, you can face up to five years in prison or a fine of 30 million won ($~27,000). If the act occurred before the revision of the law, he would be sentenced to not more than five years in prison or fined less than 10 million won,”
