Prince Dowan And Goo Hae-Ryung Hold Hands
This episode continues with Prince Dowan and Goo Hae-Ryung sheltering the rain under a rock. While the two are closely sitting together, Prince Dowan’s hands accidentally touched Hae-Ryung’s. It was then he decided to make the bold move of holding on to her hands which later sparked a series of emotions.
After sheltering the rain, Hae-Ryung told the Prince that there were tigers who were in the forest and as a young child her brother would always hold her hands when walking through the forest; of course, this was as an excuse of further hold onto him.
The Prince who believed her gladly held onto to her hands. However, after hearing the other female historians, Hae-Ryung quickly pushed Prince Dowan in the bushes so that they would not see him.
He later commented on how pretty she was and she jokingly gave him a cheeky response.
I must say I like the progress of their relationship, their acting and facial expressions are certainly on point which makes these scenes are really enjoyable to watch.

Goo Hae Ryung Spots a Case of Corruption and Historian Min Address the Issue
It was that time of the year where the officials within the palace would be promoted to a higher rank, so the male historians had been out and about trying to get the likes of the higher ranking offers to recomemd. One such high ranking personnel was Officer Song, female historian’s Hee father.
After reviewing the documents of the newly promoted officers Goo-Hae-Ryung met up on distorted data which revealed that some of the elected officials had false addresses under their names so that they could get appointed to work under jurisdictions in their hometown. When an official is appointed to work in their hometown it normally leads to some form of exploitation and fraud.
Once the historians had figured that the person who was responsible for was Senior Officer Song form the Ministry of Personnel, Historian Min paid him a visit.
Upon visiting Senior Officer Song, Historian Min suggested that in order for the certificates to made for the newly promoted officials he must first to rectify the issue regarding their fraudulent appointment however he was manipulated and threatened to leave it alone.
A Petition is Filed Against Historian Min and Details of His Messy Past Resurface
During a meeting with the Crown Prince, a petition was read which requested for Historian Min to resign seeing that he should have not been appointed as a historian initially because of his messy past.
For the first time, we got to see the reason behind Historian Min’s hate towards his father. According to the flashback, his father had falsely accused his wife’s father which later led to him being executed. As a result of this, his wife Dan-Yeong committed suicide under the pain of wrongfully losing her father.
People within the palace had heard of Historian Min’s petition to be impeached and everyone was gossiping without being aware of the full truth. Being distressed that his dead wife’s name was being slandered he went to the Crown Prince with Hae-Ryung and brought in his resignation letter.
He was very hurt that his father who was responsible for the death of his wife and his father in law, still lacks remorse towards his selfish actions. According to Second State Councillor Min, in politics people must make sacrifices, sadly, in this case, his son’s wife and her father were sacrificed for his benefit. Historian Min later found out that it was his father who ordered for the petition be written so that he and the other corrupt senior officials can continue breaking the rules of the palace.
Historian Min who is aware of his father’s action decided to push through for his dead wife ad continue to do his work as a historian, hence he returned to the palace the following day.
Prince Dowan Overwhelmed By His Feelings and Hae Ryung Reassures Him
After not being able to see Hae-Ryung for a day, the Prince is left both happy and somewhat frustrated. Eunuch Heo, who noticed his sadness confirmed that he was experiencing lovesickness.
He later advised him on how to go about women when he’s in love, hence he was told by the eunuch to always play hard to get and not to be so open about his feelings. The Prince, however, did the complete opposite after spotting Hae-Ryung and Historian Min walking and laughing in the palace.
Consumed by jealousy he approached the two and commanded that Hae-Ryung followed him. Historian Min unaware of his reason for this sudden command questioned him, the Prince, however, gave him ‘the eye’ which seized Historian Min’s inquiries.
After following Prince Dowan’s to his dwellings, Hae-Ryung was met by a number of questions as the Prince tried to find out if she liked someone else and later revealed to her that he doesn’t like when she talks to other men. He also let her know that he wants to get to know her some more.
Goo Hae-Ryung surprised at his concern gladly gave him some details of her life and reassured him that when she held his hands she did it because she wanted to and not because of the made story she had fed him. The Prince was very glad to hear that his feelings were reciprocated.
Goo Hae-Ryung Caught Eavesdropping
After receiving news that Officer Min was having a secret meeting with the King without a historian present, Go Hae-Ryung was sent to find out what was going on. Before caught eavesdropping by the palace guards, she had overheard Officer Min asking the King what he was hiding about Prince Dowan.
Sadly, we were left on a cliffhanger as it isn’t certain that Hae-Ryung heard the rest of their conversation. According to the preview for the next episode, it shows that she will be locked up in jail and the male historians will rebel.
This episode was very interesting and I cannot wait to see what will unfold the next episodes to come.
