Goo Hae Ryung Gets Arrested

This episode continued with Goo Hae Ryung being caught eavesdropping by one of the palace guards, which later resulted in her being arrested. Not only were the male historians appalled by this they felt like their role as historians were underlook and disrespected. Hence to rebut the King’s decision the historians decided to start a passive protest.
With this passive protest, they decided to desist from their daily duties such as sitting in at official meetings and preparing the records of royal orders. What transpired after this is a system of backed-up work which showed how significant the historian’s role was to carry out is the smooth flow of palace work.

What made matters worse, was that His Majesty ordered the palace officials to take the record of administration to him so he could review it. Determined to stand by the beliefs as true historians the men fought with their hearts to prevent the other officials form accessing such valuable records.

The Prince Worried+ Visits Her Behind Bars

While all of this was happening Goo Hae Ryung was locked up not knowing what would be the verdict of her actions.
After hearing that Goo Hae Ryung was arrested, Prince Dowan freaked out and was ready to confront His Majesty without even thinking about the further consequences. He was however stopped by Mr.Heo who told him to consider the matter objectively as the King is not someone to mess with.
He later visited Hae-Ryung behind pays after and brought her foods and things she would need to stay comfortable. Hae-Ryung was of course flattered by the Prince’s consideration.

While the two bickered, they came to a pause and the Prince tried to kiss Hae-Ryung but Mr.Heo appeared. This, however, did not stop Hae-Ryung from making the bold decision to kiss the Prince on his cheek, which late left him in awe for days.

Historian Min Pushes The King To Retract His Order

After fighting with the palace officials, the historians realized how hell-bent His Majesty was on withdrawing his order to inspect the Office of Royal Decrees. As a result of this, Historian Min made the bold move of summoning the King and demanded that he behead him or retract his command. After telling the King that he had no right to make such an order, His Majesty became even more infuriated but was pressured to stand down by the scholars of Sungkungkwan who later joined the protest.

The King eventually withdrew his order after being advised by Second State Councillor Min, that people would start investigating what Goo Hae Ryung heard and wrote that day that caused him to behave so rash.

This episode ended with Goo Hae-Ryung’s older brother begging her to quit her job as a Historian as it may be hard to survive in the palace. It also appears that Hae-Ryung may have a big secret that she and her brother is hiding.

The preview shows that Hae-Ryung and His Majesty will have a one on one and they will be negotiating. I honestly can’t wait to see how things will unfold tomorrow.
