Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung Episode 29-30 Recap. This episode was certainly enjoyable, Prince Dowan and Goo Hae Ryung’s relationship has been found out by some of the female historians and their reaction was hilarious. There however lies further problems ahead, with the King’s order to get Prince Dowan married.

Below are the highlights of episode 29-30. To see the recap of episode 27-28, click here.

Historian Seong Gets Banished

In the previous episode, Historian Seong faced a hard confrontation by Historian Min because of his decision to threaten the Prince so that the Catholics’ lives could be saved.
This episode continued with Historian Min submitting a request that Historian Seong is removed from his post as a historian. The Crown Prince later agreed to the request and gave orders for his banishment.

After hearing about what had happened, the other historians were left furious at the fact that a fellow historian could impeach another. Not understanding the root of what happened, they all attacked Historian Min, however after eventually finding out they saw that Historian Seong was at fault.
The men were sorry to know that their fellow colleague was facing a hard time and came up with funds to help him out.
Historian Min, who was also sorry that things had to end that way still expressed his sincerity to Historian Seong and even told him that he could return after his banishment. Historian Seong, however, declined the offer as he had made up his mind to live life more freely and help others around him outside the palace.

Historian Min was left in curiosity as to why Historian Seong was so hell-bent about his Christian beliefs and later went to buy a bible.

Furthermore, I was actually surprised that female Historian Song Sa Hee had revealed information from Goo Hae Ryung’s sachaek to Second State Councillor Min, as I thought she would somewhat honor her role as a historian. That was very sneaky of her and further proves her objectives are conflicted.
Based on what she copied from Hae Ryung’s notes, Officer Min has now verified his suspicions about Prince Dowan.

Goo Hae Ryung And Prince Dowan Relationship Comes To Light

Prince Dowan and Goo Hae Ryung are wasting no time in accepting and exploring their love. In this episode, Prince Dowan referred to Goo Hae Ryung as his woman and after hearing that she was left in awe.

The two were later seen near Nokseodang holding hands by Historian Eun Im and Ah Ran. The female historians were left surprised both at the fact that the man they thought was a clerk, was actually a Prince and that he and their fellow colleague were dating.

This scene was certainly enjoyable to watch as the historians first thought that the Prince had used his power to seek Goo Hae Ryung. They were later confronted by Prince Dowan’s housemaids and was told that Goo Hae Ryung is the one that actually initiated things and that the Prince was innocent. The group of women later got in a brawl in an attempt to protect the honor of their friends.

After returning to the Office of Royal Decrees, the lady went to speak in private and later tried to get all the juicy details about Prince Dowan and Goo Hae Ryung’s relationship.

At first Prince, Dowan was worried that Goo Hae RYung would get in trouble but she reassured him by telling that it felt somewhat good that she now had someone to confide in about their love. Prince Dowan was happy to hear that it was no longer a secret.

Prince Dowan’s Wedding In Planning

In this episode, the King gave orders regarding the Prince’s royal wedding that should be officiated. This was not good news for the Prince nor Goo Hae Ryung as they are just getting started in their newfound relationship.
Hae Ryung was obviously left saddened after hearing about the King’s announcement. She was now reminded of the reality of falling in love with a Prince and that things may not go as she wants it to.

Furious at His Majesty’s decision, the Prince visited the Historian’s office and summoned Goo Hae Ryung so that she could record his discussion with the Queen Dowager.
This scene proved to us, how much the Prince has grown since the first episode, he’s no longer the rumored exiled Prince but someone who is strong-willed and determined in his beliefs.

Sitting in front of the Queen Dowager, he begs her to cancel the order that the King had sent out about his wedding. He made it clear to her that he has no intention of getting married as he is deeply in love with someone.
While hearing this Hae Ryung was left in shock at his sudden confession.
The preview for the next episode shows that plans for the wedding will still be carried out despite the Prince’s objection. Historian Song will also be a candidate on the list of wives for the Prince.

I can’t wait to see how the next episode will unfold. Will the Prince disregard everything and focus on the woman he loves or will he succumb to his father’s order?
