Supreme Court Dismiss Kim Hyun Joong Ex-Girlfriend Claims

The Supreme Court Dismiss Kim Hyun Joong’s ex-girlfriend claims for damages against him. This ruling has put on end to a legal battle started over 5 years ago. Kim Hyun Joon is a singer and actor, he is apart of the idol group SS501.

Kim Hyun Joong ex-girlfriend (Mrs. A ) filed a complaint claiming that she was assaulted by Kim Hyun-joong in August 2014 and suffered an injury that damaged her ribs that took 6 weeks heal. Afterwards, the two signed an agreement that Kim Hyun-joong announced an apology for Mrs. A to the media and paid 600 million won (approximately $538,200) in damages on condition of keeping each other secrets. Mrs. A dropped the complaint, and Kim Hyun-joong was fined 5 million won for injuries and assault.

In April 2015, Mrs. A filed a lawsuit against Kim Hyun-Joong again, saying that she had a miscarriage due to Kim Hyun-Joong’s assault and was forced to abort her pregnancy. In July of the same year, Kim Hyun-Joong also responded to a lawsuit claiming the same amount as “Mrs. A” claimed she was spreading false information and violated their agreement.”

Mrs. A gave birth to Kim Hyun-Joong’s son in September 2015 during the lawsuit and is currently raising a son by himself.

The Supreme Court said, “There is no evidence that Mrs. A was assaulted by Kim Hyun-Joong and miscarried, or that Kim Hyun-Joong forced her to undergo abortion surgery. Kim Hyun-Joong suffered damage to his image to the extent that it was difficult to act like a celebrity, and was defamed.” I thought the judgment of the second trial was correct. When the Supreme Court dismissed Mrs. A’s appeal, Mr. A paid 100 million won (approximately $89,700) to Kim Hyun-Joong and ended the lawsuit that lasted more than five years.
