Like every Korean Drama fan out there we are always on the hunt for new kdramas to obsess over. So with that thought in mind, I decided to curate a list for you guys of all the upcoming kdramas in April 2019.

So let’s get right into the list below:’

 Her Private Life

Release Date: April 10, 2019 

Runtime: Wed. & Thu. 21:30

Main Cast: Park Min-Young and Kim Jae-Wook

Her Private Life Synopsis

Sung Deok-Mi (Park Min-Young) works as a curator at an art gallery. She is a huge fan of idol group member Shi-An and secretly runs a fan website about him. Because of her affection for Shi-An, she has experienced several personal break-ups. Sung Deok-Mi now focuses only on her job and doing activities as Shi-An’s fan in her private life. One day, Ryan (Kim Jae-Wook) begins work as the new director of the art gallery where Sung Deok-Mi. He was once a famous painter, but he does not paint anymore. Ryan doesn’t have much interest in other people, but he happens to learn that Sung Deok-Mi is a fan of Shi-An and runs his fan website. Ryan takes an interest in Sung Deok-Mi.

 

Mung Bean Flower

Mung Bean Flower Synopsis

Set during the Donghak Peasant Revolution which took place from 1894-1895. Two half-brothers fight on opposite sides of this rebellion.

Baek Yi-Kang (Cho Jung-Seok) is the first son of an important family. His father is wealthy and he is notorious as a local government officer. But, Yi-Kang’s mother is from the lowest class. Due to his mother’s low social class, people look down on Baek Yi-Kang.

Song Ja-In (Han Ye-Ri) is the only daughter for the head of a large peddlers group. She is the owner of Jeonjoo Yeokak, which sells merchandise and is also an inn. She has courage, stays calm under pressure and has charisma. Song Ja-In dreams of becoming the best merchant in Joseon.

Baek Yi-Hyun (Yoon Si-Yoon) is Yi-Kang’s younger half-brother. He is smart, handsome and polite. Unlike Yi-Kang, Baek Yi-Hyun was not born out of wedlock. Yi-Hyun has everything and he treats his half-brother politely.

Beautiful World Synopsis 

Park Moo-Jin (Park Hee-Soon) and Kang In-Ha (Choo Ja-Hyun) are a married couple. Park Moo-Jin works as a high school teacher and Kang In-Ha runs a bakery. They enjoy their lives with their children. Their peaceful days soon turn into a hellish experience. Their son, who is in the 3rd grade of middle school, is seriously injured due to school violence. Park Moo-Jin and Kang In-Ha try to reveal the truth.

Meanwhile, Oh Jin-Pyo (Oh Man-Seok) and Seo Eun-Joo (Cho Yeo-Jeong) are a married couple. They are both from wealthy families. Oh Jin-Pyo is the chairman of a private school foundation inherited from his family. They have never experienced failure or lacked anything. They have a son who makes trouble. The parent’s coverup for their son’s misbehavior.

Five friends, who are all 20-years-old, leave their home for different reasons and begin to live together. The five friends are Tae-O (Ji Soo), Song-Yi (Jung Chae-Yeon), Do-Hyun (Jin Young), Ga-Rin (Choi Ri) and Hoon (Kang Tae-Oh).

Tae-O and Song-Yi have been friends since they were very little. Do-Hyun is Tae-O’s friend. Song-Yi and Do-Hyun have feelings for each other.

My Fellow Citizens Synopsis

Yang Jung-Kook (Choi Si-Won) is a veteran conman, but he has never been arrested. One day, his girlfriend suddenly runs off with the money they were going to use for their marriage. Yang Jung-Kook is extremely upset and he goes out to drink. He meets Kim Mi-Young (Lee Yoo-Young). She is going through a hard time because of her boyfriend’s cheating ways. Yang Jung-Kook tells her that he runs a business and Kim Mi-Young tells him that she works for a small company. Kim Mi-Young is actually a detective. They find comfort with each other and they develop a relationship romantically. On their wedding day, Kim Mi-Young reveals to Yang Jung-Kook that she is actually a detective.

Meanwhile, Park Hoo-Ja (Kim Min-Jung) is a mysterious woman. She runs a private loan business that she inherited from her father. Her father was swindled by Yang Jung-Kook. Park Hoo-Ja finds Yang Jung-Kook and blackmails him into running for a national assembly seat.
